Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Dawn is a Markdown reader for iPhone. It does not collect any data about you. Everything you open stays on your device, and nothing you read is sent to us or to anyone else.

What we collect

Nothing. Dawn has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. We have no servers that receive your information because there is nothing to receive.

What stays on your device

To do its job, Dawn keeps a few things in local app storage on your iPhone:

This information never leaves your device. Deleting the app removes it.

Network access

Dawn renders your documents entirely on-device. It connects to the network only in response to your own actions:

Photos

When you choose to save a share card as an image, Dawn asks for permission to add that one image to your photo library. This is a write-only action — Dawn never reads, browses, or uploads your photos.

Third parties

Dawn contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The libraries used to render math, code, and diagrams (KaTeX, highlight.js, and Mermaid) are open source and bundled inside the app; they run locally and send nothing anywhere.

Children

Dawn contains no objectionable content and collects no data, so it is suitable for users of all ages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and revise the date above.
